Breaking up

When you get needlessly emotional, I guess that's when you know things are coming to an end.

Honestly, it feels like breaking up with a year long boyfriend.

Today I was at the usual place, seeing some usual faces walk through the usual doors and some other new faces hanging around.

Right now, all I want to do is to soak up that feeling and indulge in this familiarity before it officially ends.

I'm not 100% satisfied with the past year, definitely. But it has been an experience that just can't be found elsewhere. For me, it's a year long learning journey that has changed the way I think about things. Met some great people and some not so fantastic ones, just really all kinds of people.

While I did aspire to achieve many things coming into this, but afterall we're just gonna be part of this continuos cycle of stepping up/handing over. Nobody is going to remember the 32nd 10 years down. Nobody will remember who we are individually, nobody will remember what we did exactly. But I remember the 32nd, I remember the people I've worked with, I remember the many ridiculous incidents that will become awesome stories to tell in the future. At the end of the day, it wasn't so much what I could contribute but what I actually took away. Disappointing, that it eventually became more of a self improvement thing rather than a serve the faculty thing, but welfare learning identity applies to us too right?

No matter how insignificant it might have been but I hope I managed to leave a mark somewhere, like they say, 凡走过必留下痕迹.

Now it's time to clean up these feelings and watch the next batch come in, go through what we went through, and so on. I hope it's the beginning of a new chapter for them as well as for the club, and for them to leave their mark too.
