What's new? I'm really looking forward to Promos (quite stupid like a few days and its over already-.-) but like finally this whole year of hard work is finally going to pay off (or not). Just when everyone is starting with revision I can't believe that I've actually stopped revision. What is wrong with me?
Ok, everyone's blog is always there for feelings and comments. And it sucks that sometimes I have to consider the feelings of other people before I blog, but they obviously don't give me the same respect.

MY HAIR

So happy^^
Super bored now 'cause there's nothing on TV except China pwningzxzxzxzxzx everyone else at the Beijing Olympics. All the China people go? "(Whoever's playing), 加油!"
Read the ST's Discussion Board. All those people who don't feel happy that our so called imported talents have acheived such results at the Olympics just because they aren't Singaporeans, well, then wait till you have nothing to cheer for. With all the competitiveness and career driven (i.e. money centered) Singaporeans, few would actually dedicate their future to sports. Then it'll be impossible to even send a team. These people are everything but second hand talents. Look at Tao Li, at the age of 18, holds the Asian record for 100m butterfly. A decent 5th at the finals of an olympic game while going against the best in the world. All these and so much more. Nothing to be proud of? Well, you should at least feel proud that someone so young have acheived so much and she is willing to do that while bearing the word Singapore. (Ok lah, maybe got monetary rewards for her also lah) Then again, we opted the easy way out to buy people rather than to train people anyway.
Why must politicise? It's sports!

Hello Straits Times!

On 10th August 2008, 2:00pm, my two friends and I patronised McDonalds at Changi Airport Terminal 3. There were many students doing their revision and so were we. I understand that by doing that we might be taking up seats for their potential customers and would gladly leave if the need arises. However, I feel that it would have made our day a better one if they had handled it better. One of the staff approached us with a slip of paper, appealing to us to be considerate to other consumers such as families and give up our seats.
It's already bad enough that I'm doing Fast food for PW (and in the process learnig so much more about McD's) Bad service somemore!
When Singapore launched a nation wide campaign on Going the Extra Mile for Service (GEMS), she would already have noticed the decline in the service attitudes of those in that industry. However, it did not seem to have worked for everyone.

To our amazement, there were plenty of empty seats around. Hence, we decided to leave our feedback on that slip of paper given to us. Just then, the manager by the name of Alvin Tang came to us and asked if we were ready to leave. We told him that we would like to give some feedback and assured him that we were leaving. On our way out, we handed him the paper at the counter. Without even as much as a glance, he crushed the paper in front of us and added sarcastically, "Thank you."
It astounds me that this is the service that McDonald’s has to offer. While I understand that they are acting on the benefit of other consumers, I hope they do treat us, students with equal respect as we do frequent their franchises and spend a considerable amount there. We recognise that McDonald’s discourages studying so as to defend its own economic interests but we certainly did not expect such service and attitude from a high-ranking staff. It is with great dismay that we had to go through such an experience. If the manager has such disregard for service, it is hard to imagine what their other staff would be like.
I would like to appeal to the manager, Mr Alvin Tang, to value comments and feedback from their customers to help them improve, regardless of whether they are positive or negative. It disappoints me that McDonald’s has staff like him and that we had to raise this issue here. As quoted from the McDonald’s website “We are committed to listening to you, and ask that you, as our valued customers, help us improve and serve you better by giving us your feedback and comments.” Apparently, not all of their staffs are committed to providing better service to the public and this is detrimental to the image McDonald’s tries to portray.
We cannot be certain that by chasing us away, McDonald’s gains more customers. However, we can be very confident that they have just lost three of their regulars.

Suffering from a little post NDP celebration syndromes.
And well, talked to huishan today about some things we've both noticed. All I can say is, Friendship is something that goes both ways, takes time, effort, a big heart and definitely a pair of ears. I've gone past the sad phase. Just damn pissed now. If you're not keen on it, tell me so that I don't have to waste my effort any more.
Ahh, what a way to start my National Day Holiday.

TOMORROW IS NATIONAL DAY! Gosh, so exciting!
Had a fun celebration with the class today but was trying very badly to stay awake, hyper and smiley. MINDs Cafe and The Love Guru. Wah, if you have yet to catch The Love Guru, one sincere advice, don't ever catch it. But Who cares about the movie! It's class bonding, fellowshipping and some catching up with the relief teachers that was the main issue here.
(Oh, I found out something about somone and it totally impressed me)
Finally received Mr Ho's "farewell" card.
Ok, I'm glad and relieved about deciding to go for SYF in the end because by doing that I managed to make people around me feel happy. To me it was quite a harmless decision, didn't expect it to mean anything to others.
Shall update again on NDP. Wasn't planning to come online but since I was so bloated might as well wait for the food to digest. Hee hee.! Gosh, so tired!

Chem, Maths, PW, history and abit of fun in between
Hectic week!
So super relieved that this week has past! The only I'm left with is EoM and NDP on saturday. Currently taking a short break from doing EoM. I believe now - PW is the worst thing that can happen to you.
You know its tiring and streeful when you're jam packed with things to do but it actually gives me a whole lot of accomplishment after its all done. And I think peer support helps so much! Gives me some joy amidst all the tearing my hair out.
Absolutely have to get used to sleeping less and watching less TV!
Next step after learning to accept coffee!
Have very bad eating habits. Ice cream, 2 paus (Tanjong Rhu pau!), 2 bowls of soup and less than half a bowl of rice. Not a Balanced meal lehhh! Oh and I think Long John kinda feeds people with so much oil that they feel extremely full and bloated.
Oh my! Actual NDP on Saturday! Can't wait (:
Sort of glad and relieved that I finally made up my mind about SYF.
